MASTER OF SERPENTS
So, we were talking about the kids, and specifically wondering why it's so hard to capture Spike's particular kind of magic when we take a picture of him.
Lots of pictures turn out great, and he is obviously beautiful, but he's got this...something...that you really only get when he's there in person.
He has this kind of horrible goodness...it's so hard to describe...
He is wonderful and sweet and kind and thoughtful...but you can tell that he has the potential for great mischief...and maybe even cruelty...
Like, he is only being amazing and great because he is choosing to be...
...at any time, that decision could swing the other way...
OHMYGOD!
I just realized...
Spike is Darth Vader!
We've gotta keep a closer eye on that kid...

WHEN HE DREAMS, HE FLIES.
I got to hang out with Spike for awhile yesterday (it was my turn to work at his preschool).
We took Boris to school, then wandered around for awhile until time to get over to "The Beehive".
As we walked, Spike was tightly holding my hand. He looked up at the sky and started leaning further and further backward, but still walking forward.
As he reached the end of his equilibrium, he laughed and fell onto his back.
As I helped him up, I asked him why he was laughing.
He replied, "When I walk like that, I'm walking on the sky!"

Spring Breakin' it!
Car trips are hard, especially when you don't have one of those fancy DVD player thing-a-ma-jiggers to numb your brain. But, Spike was more than happy with the pirate guys his Daddy bought for just such an occasion!
Outside the Capitol were these rather creepy statues of children that were no match for our daring brood!
Look! A canon! Cool...
Jumping on the bed at home is strictly forbidden, but at a hotel, well now, that's a different story... *heehee*
A trip to Austin would not have been complete if Mom didn't get to go to the World Famous (because the food network says so) Round Rock Donuts! When we mentioned our irrational excitement for the visit, the manager gave us a Donut Joe, four extra cake donuts and three hot 'originals' for free!
Round Rock rocks!
